LFLF has been busy!

The children of Little Feet Little Faces Preschool have been busy finishing their September Projects this week. They have mixed their own colour paint, painted their project using different sized brushes and different patterns, decorated their project with sparkles and even put some bling on their projects! The children did a great job on their personalised blackboards, we can't wait to take them home and play with them :)

Pre K Fall Painting

While playing outside, we are starting to notice a few of the leaves changing colours. In Art class we decided to make a Fall painting. We started by painting the brown tree trunk with branches. Then we dipped our fingers in red, yellow and orange paint to make leaves falling from the tree.

Ukulele Fun!

Ms Menaka brought her ukulele to school! We had a circle while Ms Menaka played the ukulele and sang songs. She also taught us how to use it properly, and how to treat the instrument with care. Afterwards we all had a turn playing the instrument. Thank you Ms Menaka!

Pre K Reading

Every morning, our Pre K class enjoys 5-10 minutes of reading books individually. The children get to chose their favourite book, get comfortable and start reading! While the children turn the pages, they are encouraged to find familiar letters, such as the first letter of their name. Some children are even looking at the pictures, and developing their own story. The children are beginning to follow book story lines, and are beginning to remember its content. They also have favourite books that they enjoy being read to over and over. We love reading!

Happy Birthday!

Today we celebrated one of our friends birthdays! Ms Lauren J helped us sing a surprise Happy Birthday song during music class, and we gave our friend his surprise birthday card! After we got to enjoy the yummy cupcakes, we made our way to our dance floor and played our favourite games. We played Freeze Dance and danced in a circle! Happy Birthday and thank you for the yummy treats!

Project Time!

This week Ms Lauren's Class have been working on their September Projects. It is a surprise but we will let you have a little look! We mixed our own paint and did a great job painting the edges around our project.

Painting with cars

Today the children painted on paper using small toy cars instead of paint brushes. The children chose their favourite colors and dipped their cars in paint. Next, they moved their cars on paper, mixed different colors, and created beautiful paintings. Through moving the cars on paper, the children were able to practice their fine motor and gross motor skills. Furthermore, the children developed their social skills by talking with each other about their paintings.

Pre K counting

Today in the art room the children traced their hands on paper and counted their fingers (1-5). We wrote down the numbers 1 to 5 as we counted our fingers one by one. The children decorated their hand tracings and the numbers using crayons. Next, we counted other objects in the art room together as a group. The children had so much fun practicing counting and one to one correspondence in the art room!

Sponge Painting

In Art class we are learning about different textures such as bumpy and smooth. We have been exploring different materials in the Art room, and this time we painted with sponges. We noticed that one side of the sponge was soft and smooth, and the other side was rough and bumpy! We painted with both sides, and noticed the difference it left on our paper. The children were also able to explore the sensory experiment of paint filled sponges, and improved their fine motor development.
We all enjoyed experimenting and exploring with a new paint tool!
