Class 5 - Literacy/Numeracy

Class Five challenges there knowledge with hands on literacy and
numeracy activities!
Class Five challenged there literacy and numeracy skills with
hands on activities. Class five got to decide what activities interest
them as they chose and alternated the activities. Some of us worked on
the letter puzzle, where we had to find pictures of items that begin
with the same first letter as the puzzle piece in the centre. For
example, the centre puzzle piece might have been a picture of a "hat",
and the letter at the top "H". Class Five worked together to find
pictures of items that begin with the letter "H" to complete the
letter puzzle for words that start with the letter "H". Another
activity that class five chose to play with was the marbles. The
marbles were different shapes, sizes, and colours. The variations
allowed for class five to divide the marbles according to their
differences. Furthermore, they used counting as a technique to help
them. These literacy and numeracy activities are great because it
allows for team works to take place, are hands on and fun!
