Class 5 - Sight Words

Over the past few weeks Class 5 has been working hard to read and recognize simple sentences. We have been focusing on word families: "-ig", "-at" and "-op". However, today our main focus was geared towards "-ig" and "-at". During circle time we brought out our special word cards and practiced reading: “I see a cat and a big rat” which we have been re-reading every week. After reading our word cards, we took our reading to a whole other level. Instead of just reading the sentence, we wrote it down on paper. Repetition helps to improve speed, increases confidence, and strengthens the connections in the brain that help us learn. Practice only makes perfect! Great work Class 5!
