Class 5- All Things Green & St. Patrick's Day

Class 5 was beginning to learn about St. Patrick's day today. We learnt about the colour of Ireland.GREEN and discussed about different things that are green. Each child had a turn expressing their own self while talking about green things that they like the best. We then made a worksheet where the children wrote the things discuss down, also trying to draw a picture of them onto the chart. We had a good discussion and a great learning experience.

Class 1&2- Learning With Mr. Potato Head

Today Class 1 and 2 engaged in a social activity which enabled us to enhance our sharing skills, while playing and having fun with each other! Furthermore, we gained a better understanding of body parts and the vocabulary behind them through using our fine motors to carefully place them in the correct spot. We even had fun being silly and mixing the body parts around to make a funny looking potato head. Overall, we had a fun yet great learning experience shared with one another!

Class 3- Concert Practice

What a pleasure it was to watch my little friends practice their dance routine for the upcoming concert with Ms. Deanne. My friends had their listening ears “clicked on” and all little eyes were glued on Ms. Deanne as she demonstrated and directed them. They were fully engaged and having a blast! First, they practiced Ms. Deanne’s Class 3 “Hip Hop” routine and then they moved to their Ballet routine. Everyone worked hard on their little “Pizza feet” also known as, “First Position” in Ballet terms. There were some beautiful Plies, pointed toe kicks and of course, lots of smiles and laughter.

Class 5- Our Feelings

Class 5 is beginning to learn about emotions and feelings. What makes us happy, sad, angry, scared and so on. We sang some songs and did some worksheets after which we decided to paint our very own feelings face on a paper plate. The children were provided with different colours and they enjoyed painting their very own expression, depending on how they felt for the day. They did a great job bringing out their true feelings and expressing it onto paper.

Class 2- Winter Animals: Polar Bears

Today Class 2 made lovely polar bears. We decided to make polar bears because they are a winter animal. However, our polar bears are extra special as they are full of love! The theme goes with the month of February as it is all about love! We used Valentine colours such as red and pink to paint and glue on hearts onto our lovely polar bears! We hope you love them as much as we do!

Class 1- Feelings Masks & Expressive Dancing

The Class 1 friends crafted their own paper plate facial expressions on Monday. Every friend got half of a paper plate and coloured them by used crayons. And then, Our friends glue the noses and mouth onto the paper plate. When the craft was completed, we danced around wearing our homemade masks during our dance time. We had lots of fun!

Class 5- Shape Family

Class 5 learnt about family and extended families this week. How we have brothers, sisters, cousins, uncles, and aunts and how all families are different. Everyone enjoyed communicating and sharing their family experiences.While doing so we also learnt about opposites, how some are big or small, tall or short, young or old families. In art class we decided to make family members from different shapes like rectangle, triangle, circle. Children could choose their own shapes and decide how they wanted to design their shape family. Everyone did a great job!

Class 1- Frienship

Our LFLF mini friends had a great day on Friday, this is because they had so much fun with all of their friends. We had a special hugging circle, where the children dressed up in funny clothes, and proceed to give each other friendly hugs, and sang funny songs together. This has allowed our friends to learn about positive feelings and friendship along with self esteem. We are so happy that all of our friends get along great here at school.
