Class 5- Play Preparation

Class 5 is excited about their concert next week. We are doing a play about an enormous turnip and we decided to make our very own turnip. We used a big ball, some newspapers, and paints. The children had a lot of fun doing the group art. They painted the turnip, painted themselves and their friends too and laughed about it. It was wonderful to see all the children work together cooperatively. Great work Class 5 friends.

This week Class 1 & 2 friends explored outdoor activities while enjoying the sunny weather! Some activities we engaged in were: water play, building with Lego, catching bubbles, playing with wet sand, riding bikes and many more! This was great as we were able to play with friends and engage in our environment! Furthermore, we used our gross motors and enhanced them as we ran, jumped and popped bubbles. Class 2- My Beautiful Flower

Class 2 designed beautiful spring flowers using vibrant acrylic paints on a purple back ground! We first started by organizing paints for friends to share and everyone got a blank purple flower. Once everything was prepared on the table, we began exploring the colours: white, red, pink and purple. We used small paint brushes to help us enhance our fine motor and coordination skills to create interesting yet beautiful patterns! Class 2 did a fantastic job and we were all so proud to share our flowers with our friends!

Class 5- Butterflies

Class 5 is learning about spring , bugs and insects that we see outdoors. Yesterday, we learnt about ants. Today we were learning about butterfly and their life cycle, and how a little caterpillar turns into a beautiful butterfly. We then decided to paint our very own pretty butterflies. Each child was given a cutout and they were given a choice of colours to paint their butterflies. Some made patterns, some made lines and some children mixed the paints to make a new colour. It was nice to see how each child made their own unique butterfly. We then sprinkled some glitter to add our magical touch.
